Inspiration: Eugène Alain Séguy
A French entomologist and artist, E.A. Séguy created supremely beautiful illustrations and print designs in an art nouveau style in the early to mid-20th Century.
He drew much of his inspiration from nature - in particular, insects, or diptera, and was chair of entomology at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris from 1956 to 1960.
Designing a scarf was one of the projects I most enjoyed in my textile design course, and I loved focusing on bugs and butterflies as the subjects.
A class visit to the Australian Museum provided an array of visual stimulation, particularly when it came to their amazing collection of butterflies.
