Rita B, otherwise known as my amazing friend Bianca, is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter producing raw, heart-breaking, funny and truly unique music. Her voice is simultaneously fragile and tender; powerful and affecting.
We shot some of these portraits spontaneously in the wildly overgrown backyard of our share house the day before it was due to be mowed. The untamed plants seemed an apt metaphor for the unbridled beauty of Bianca’s songs. I marvelled at her ability to go from 1940s screen siren to middle finger wielding prankster from one second to the next!
