At the end of 2013, I produced a radio documentary for ABC Radio Current Affairs about gay and lesbian Russians fighting for change and equality in their country, after president Vladimir Putin signed into law a homophobic agenda under the guise of 'protecting minors'. I spoke to inspiring LGBT people in Moscow and St Petersburg living under an intolerant regime.
